I had no idea that little people could be such effective actors let alone pull off an amazing production. We recently experienced the wonder through my son’s K/1 class play called “The Great Kapok Tree”. This really is an ode to the wonderful teachers that were largely responsible for making the play a huge success. The school itself has been amazing in helping build my son’s confidence from being a shy little guy (in groups anyway…and at home it is a different story) to this brave kid that was able to deliver his lines on stage in front of an audience. He started out by telling me that he had stage fright and it took him a bit to dial up the volume on his lines. The teacher did this amazing thing telling the kids that they had to give each other courage to remember their parts for the play. Here are a couple of fun clips…the little guy on the left in the Monkey Costume is mine 🙂

The kids were also given their first “homework” assignment of crafting out a play project. Rowan decided to do a monkey project that he worked on with his dad. I was pretty impressed with the job they did! It involved research on the rain forest, identifying various species of monkeys, picking out material and building it and also injecting his own story line. The monkeys playing tag, the “friendly” harpy eagle with the monkey and the Howler Monkey chasing food.

What is a post without a few of my photos? I took pics of the cast for the play and have a few to share…

hee hee…don’t you love that face?

This has been a crazy week and a juggling act of sorts in trying to stay on top! I have been dying to proof these photos of my favorite little client. This is my third time taking pictures of this cutie and she is all of ten months old. It is such a treat to watch them grow and change over the course of the year. Is she adorable? Here is a sneak peek for mom. I will add a few more later but I thought I’d at least share this one for the time being.

I met Julie, the owner of Estullio Produce a great little organic produce store with a deli in San Leandro late last year. Pop in if you are in the area and check it out! She is such a warm, wonderful person and it was great to meet her. She emailed me to set up a photo session for her seventeen month old daughter while I was in India and I finally got to take some photos for her.

I had her come by to test out my new backdrop but little A didn’t want anything to do with it. Well, when you are a seventeen month old explorer, you have better things to do than stay still in one spot let alone look at the camera. So I had to come up with a new plan and we took off for some action photos. She sure did give me a run for my money and I got a few pictures of her and even a few smiles. Mommy warned me that she didn’t smile too easily but I think we got a few good ones… so here is a sneak peek!

Amber - She is such a cutie, I love her little red dress!

marie - she is a doll…

Jocelin - Your images are beautiful, so soft and dreamy. I enjoyed peeking around your blog.

drollgirl - i sure love these photos. just gorgeous. 🙂

Tanya - Hey! I recognize that dress!! 🙂 I only regret not having more pictures of Delaney at that age.

Today was my lucky day! He obliged me with some pictures today to test out my new backdrop for my upcoming mini-sessions. That too with a few clothing changes… so yes, it was my lucky day!! Usually, I get lots of crazy faces, action shots (i did get a few), but in general I got some pretty good expressions. And all that hard work earned him eight jelly beans. I know I have said it before…he would eat candy all day if I let him though these were the last few from a box we had for a while.

This one is my favorite…I tend to like the ones where he doesn’t smile.

Ashley - Oh wow! He is beyond gorgeous! Love these images too. You rock;)

With the nice weather last weekend, it was great to be out taking some photos. Currently, the only ones I have started proofing are the indoor ones so mom + dad will have to wait a bit for the rest. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy these for your sneak peek.

The session was with two boys- a three month old big baby boy 🙂 and his four year old brother, both of them absoultely adorable! It was challenging to get them both together with the baby not quite sitting up and being a bit heavy for big brother.  Although, he did a great job in some of the pics we got! And we had the greatest playdate with his dinosaurs…can you tell he is a collector?

Such a happy little three-month old guy!

adding one more that I loved. Wheeeeeee……..

Heather - These are FANTASTIC!!! You really have quite the artistic eye!!!

Michele - I can’t believe I haven’t commented before, but I love your work. Truly. I do. All of it. Wonderful job!

Michelle - wow. those are fabulous. so much personality and that last one is too sweet!

Ashley - Oh, just wonderful moments! Really beautiful work!

Lisa - First, what an ADORABLE baby! Those wide bright eyes! That hair!

I love how perfectly you captured big brother at this age. My son is so much like that, and I need to have those “everyday” moments captured this beautifully so they won’t ever be forgotten.

jessica - These are so great! The second one down is priceless…beautiful work all around 🙂

Rashmi - Pictures of both the kids are adorable; each capturing the innocence/beauty at their respective ages.
I do like the last one you’ve added…it is so cute.

Amber - These are all so cute, you captured the m beautifully!

Deanna - LOVe this…its so fun when kids just get to be kids, and we get to capture them doing it!
