Have tons of images to sort through but here is one from the early part of the day of the bride getting ready…
my updated twitter screen with some old and new photos.
This K family was visiting San Francisco from the east coast last week so their family portrait session came about rather quickly! Mom and Dad went to law school with a wonderful client that referred them to me. They wanted to craft their story in the city that they love so much and move back to some day. We visited some of their favorite spots and also took some pictures in their family home in Laurel Heights. Amazingly, in the course of the shoot five month old baby Sophie’s great-grandma stopped by. How amazing is that? She is such a sweet heart and I was thrilled to capture some photos of the wee one with great-grandma. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay, K family!
Your work is absolutely gorgeous. I found you when I was googling canvas wraps 🙂 I am an instant admirer!
Precious captures, to treasure for a lifetime! I love the joy (and the curly toes!) of the first and the connection with granma in the third 🙂

I love these, Alpana. Precious and lovely, what a beautiful keepsake.
Ohhhh, yummy! Just adore that second one. Sweet sweet moments.
The ones with great-gramma are utterly beautiful – and priceless! Can you imagine having a shot like that with YOUR great-grandmother, to look back on as an adult?!

Last week, we got away on a last minute road trip to Mendocino for Spring Break. Fresh air and organic food that kept my mind, body and spirit happy.
At the end of our 1/2 mile turned almost 5 mile hike to the Russian Gulch. Amazingly the boy walked most of the way with a short carry on strong shoulders (not mine!).
Winding down Highway 128 at 35-50 miles an hour with an iPhone while snapping these out of the car window (while trying not to get motion sick).
Turns out that the boy could actually hold a pretty good tune on the Marimba. There were some pretty cool instruments in the store.
*sigh* Mendocino is gorgeous!!! I love your iphone snaps as well. What fun! I should trying doing some of that with my BlackBerry 🙂
The kite shot is awesome. Very cool use of space.
Okay, I said I would share a few things that I love so here goes…
Last week, I stopped by my client’s home to take a few pictures of their display wall. Isn’t it lovely? I am no architectural photographer but hopefully these are enough to showcase the space. When I work with clients, they have access to some wonderful tools to help them put together their own display walls but nothing like coming up with your own unique display. When I first saw it I thought it was so neat that Pam had carefully crafted a whole mix of frames in different shapes and sizes with photographs old and new. There is history shared with family photos of grandparents in their younger days and more recent photos of their kids as well. Besides, I just adore the color palette of the two rooms which works really well with the mid-century modern furniture.
ooh, me too. That color palette is gorgeous – very dramatic. I agree, I like the look of a very eclectic display of frames & photographs. It makes for a very welcoming and personal room.
where we ended up with unexpectedly sunny weather on a supposedly cloudy day for a family photography session for the C family. Not so unusual for San Francisco, eh? Made for an interesting shoot aka shooting in full sun on the beach. But hey, after the streak of wet weather and reschedules it has been nice to have a spot of sun in the bay area. After our fun in the sun we headed to Bi-rite, the ice cream shop in Noe Valley for a few more pictures that I haven’t gotten to yet. Meanwhile, here is a sneak peek for the C family. Check out the gorgeous girlie that just couldn’t stop smiling!
What gorgeous tones in your photos! Love the one with the kite! So deliciously vintagey.
i love the texture in the beach shot with the bridge in the back! great photos!
What beautiful pictures. I love the lighting used in your pictures.
gorgeous pictures! Your family is beautiful 🙂
Very cute family pic of with the golden gate bridge in the background.
Full sun???!!! You rocked that sun! I love the whole feel of that first image – it’s full of vitality. A truly beautiful portrait.
About time I updated my poor neglected blog! I took some time off in the last couple months to take care of my health, family and some behind the scenes work for Storybox Art. When you have your own business, it seems like you are always working. In trying to keep up, I haven’t had the best work + life balance and my hope is that in the next few months I will find a better solution. ha, the operative word here is hope!
Lots of exciting ideas and a new look and feel will be unveiled in the next few months. Also, I will have posts sharing what I find inspiring (photography or otherwise) and sponsor giveaways of cool products. Be sure to stay tuned in and fan my Facebook page for news as well.
And back to my toothless wonder… Yep, he lost two of his front teeth. Finally! It took forever for those two wriggly teeth to fall out. Poor kid swallowed one in his sleep a few days back and got gypped by the tooth fairy. The 2nd one dangled precariously for days on end. But, not to be gypped twice he pulled it out this morning. In honor of his lost tooth we decided on a spontaneous mini-shoot and to document proof for the fairy to bring back some goodies.
He is gorgeous without his two front teeth! I LOVE his letter to the tooth fairy.
These are gorgeous, Alpana. I especially love the first two. That spilled light is lovely!
awww, that letter is adorable. And um….yikes, he’s a stunner! I love that pouty look with the fistful of wildflowers.
WOW! What a beautiful child! You just get lost in those gorgeous eyes of his!!
I have been a terrible blogger for a while due to some health issues and haven’t had a chance to share some of my latest work. This image box (Storybox) is available as a part of a collection or a la carte when all digital files from your portrait photography session are purchased. Your Storybox comes with a cd of high resolution files ready to print and archive for posterity and a collection of session photographs. Each box is custom made for your precious memories.
If you are interested in a family or kids portrait session please email me through the contact page. My earliest openings will be starting mid-April.
The storybox is wonderful. What a lovely idea. Very classy item.
I’m going to come back soon and look around on your blog.
