The rain gods decided to roll in on Chita + Alex’s wedding day. Their lovey outdoor wedding had to be moved to an indoor venue at the eleventh hour. Somewhat like a scene from my favorite Mira Nair film, Monsoon Wedding, it came down to to the frantic, last minute chaos of planning the wedding. The young couple’s amazing friends rallied together to help which was a true testament to love and friendship. As the story got ready to unfold, I hung out with a pretty calm bride at her apartment taking photos of her getting ready.

Apparently, one cannot be a good ball player without chewing gum. Before the game, during the game, after the game and pretty much anytime. All-the-time. So I have been told by my seven year old. As a mom that wants her kid to excel in his chosen sport I comply on occasion. If I don’t there is no dirth of sources of acquiring it anyway. Here is an after game episode of Hubba Bubba gum exchange I captured on camera. It was like a moth to a flame…

watching her grow…

into a funny, smart and adorable little girl has been such a wonderful journey. My first photo session with little Miss J was at three months as a newborn and then various milestones in her first year. In so many ways, I have grown with her while watching her grow. And over the next two years I have also photographed her annually. When we met for J’s three years photos in San Francisco, it was to be a sunny day. It turned out to be quite cold and blistery and our original plans for the shoot changed. She was pretty cold but braved the photo session as a little intrepid explorer. This is a larger than usual share but I just couldn’t help sharing this sweet little person that has become so dear to me.

See Ms J’s previous sessions at 3m, 6m, 10m, 1 yo and 2 yo.
