Project 10 | Rain rain come again

After a long hiatus, I am re-joining the project 10.

We had a fairly un-eventful day. My husband had a long work week and it was nice to have a slow start to the day. We have had rain off and on through the past three days. Most of us have been rejoicing the rain here in drought-stricken California. My son had offered to stop showering for a while to do his part. Hmnn… Any excuse to get out of showering for that boy!

Rainy days remind me of home. Of India. And lyrics of Ab Ke Sawan, by Shubha Mudgul, one of my favorite musicians. She sings this song of love and the arrival of monsoons. If you have a few minutes click on the link to listen to her fabulous earthy voice singing Ab Ke Sawan with a cup of tea.

ab ke saawan, aise barse
behe jaaye rang, meri chunar se
bheege tann mann, jiya na tarse
jamke barse zara
rut saawan ki
ghataa saawan ki
ghataa saawan ki, aise jam ke barse

I documented our walk around the neighborhood taking a few stops along the way. Today, my favorite orange Beetle was parked on the street instead of the lawn, so we stopped for a quick picture. For our little photo excursion, all I had was my 28mm lens on my camera. Fortunately, our walk wasn’t too long and before too long, the boy was parked in front of the TV doing his favorite activity. It was great to get out for some fresh air! Now head on over to see my amazing friend Kirsty Larmour’s adventures!
