in film

I am participating again this month in the blog carousel with some amazing photographers from around the globe. The topic this month is alternative cameras and my hope was to share some recent images taken my 35 mm film camera. They didn’t quite make it back in time (haha, no instant gratification with film) so I am sharing a few random images that I shot of my boy last fall. They are perhaps a tad underexposed but better than some of my other choices. Be sure to check out June Kuiper, Grand Rapids family photographer next with her interpretation.

And if you are wondering why film? I have come back full circle to shooting film after a workshop last year. Back in the old days, when there was no digital I started my photography journey shooting 35 mm film at art school. Back in college, I went hiking in the Himalayas solely because of my lovely for photography and captured these with my Olympus OM1. My hope this year to shoot more film for personal work and perhaps offer a few film sessions on a discounted basis. If you are interested in a film session shoot me email an email through the contact form and we can chat 🙂
